The problems food manufacturers bring to us

Expiry write-offs

Stock expires unseen in godowns — nobody notices until a dispatch is loading, and the write-off lands on your margin.

Recall panic

A complaint comes in and tracing which batch went to which customer means days of digging through registers and invoices.

Recipe costing guesswork

Ingredient prices move weekly, but batch costs are still estimates — you find out the real margin long after the run is sold.

How Dravyaa helps

Everything a food & beverage unit needs, in one system

Dravyaa batch list showing lot numbers, warehouses, expiry dates, days left and balance, sorted first-expiry-first-out
Every lot with its expiry, days left and balance, sorted first-expiry-first-out.

Batch & expiry tracking

Every batch carries its manufacturing and expiry dates — from GRN to dispatch, with alerts before stock goes bad.

FEFO picking

First-expiry-first-out picking ensures older stock moves first — fresher shelves and fewer write-offs.

Recipe-based BOMs

Scale recipes per batch size, and track yields and wastage on every production run.

Full traceability

Trace any batch forward to customers or back to ingredient lots — in seconds, not days.

GST billing & e-invoicing

GST invoices, e-invoices and e-way bills — compliant by default, GSTR-ready books.

AI demand forecasting

Spot seasonal and festival demand patterns — with reorder suggestions before stock runs out.

Outcomes

FAQ

Common questions from food manufacturers

Does Dravyaa track expiry dates and support FEFO?

Yes. Every batch carries its manufacturing and expiry dates from GRN onwards. Expiry alerts warn you before stock goes bad, and FEFO (first-expiry-first-out) picking ensures the oldest usable stock always moves first.

Can it handle recipes that scale with batch size?

Yes. Recipe BOMs hold per-batch ingredient quantities, so a 100 kg or 500 kg run scales automatically. Yields and wastage are tracked per production run, giving you true batch-wise costs.

How does batch traceability help during a recall or audit?

Trace any batch forward to the customer invoices it was dispatched on, or backward to the ingredient lots and suppliers it came from — in seconds, with audit-ready records instead of registers.

Is it GST-compliant for food businesses?

Yes. Dravyaa generates GST invoices, e-invoices and e-way bills, and keeps your books GSTR-ready — so billing and filing stay compliant by default.

Implementation

Going live in 30 days: how a food and beverage unit is set up

The same four steps every Dravyaa customer follows — a mid-year cutover is fine, as long as the opening balances are taken on the cutover date. Case study: going live mid-year with clean opening balances shows it on a real tenant.

Week 1 — masters

Import items, customers and vendors from CSV; registered parties are pulled by GSTIN so names and addresses come from the GST portal, not retyped. Set up ingredient lots with expiry dates, warehouses and GST rates.

Week 2 — opening position

Load opening stock per warehouse at cost and party-wise debtor and creditor balances as at the cutover date (the same figures as the previous system's trial balance). Bank and cash opening balances go in last.

Week 3 — BOMs and parallel run

Enter the active BOMs and routings, run one week of real purchases, production and sales alongside the old system, and compare stock, GST and party statements line by line.

Week 4 — go-live

Freeze the old system on the cutover date, remove the demo data, hand each user their role, and file the first GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from Dravyaa's books.
