The problems chemical units bring to us

Unit chaos

You buy in drums and kilos, produce in litres, sell in cans. Excel can't keep the conversions straight — so stock figures never match the floor.

Yield surprises

Actual output differs from the formula every batch, but nobody knows by how much until stock-take — and by then the margin is already gone.

Traceability gaps

A customer complaint means digging through registers to find which raw material lot went into which batch — hours of work, often inconclusive.

How Dravyaa helps

Everything a chemical unit needs, in one system

Dravyaa production order cost tab: planned vs actual material, conversion and additional cost, variance and unit cost
A finished batch: planned vs actual cost by material, conversion and extras, and the true cost per drum.

Formula-based BOMs

Define formulations with per-batch quantities, alternates and expected wastage — every work order starts from the right recipe.

Multi-unit conversions

Drums ↔ litres ↔ kg handled automatically across purchase, production and sales — no mental math, no mismatched stock.

Batch yield tracking

Planned vs actual output per batch, with variance visible immediately — not at the next stock-take.

Batch traceability

Trace any raw material lot forward to the batches and customers it reached — and any batch backward to its inputs.

GST billing, e-invoicing & e-way bills

Every dispatch leaves with compliant documentation for transport — invoices, e-invoices and e-way bills built in.

AI insights

Consumption forecasts and reorder suggestions — restock raw materials before they run out, not after lines stop.

Outcomes

Consistent batches, visible yields

  • ✓Conversions handled by the system, not mental math — drums, kilos and litres always reconcile.
  • ✓Yield variance caught batch-by-batch, so leaks in margin show up the same day.
  • ✓Full trace in seconds when a complaint lands — lot to batch to customer, and back.
  • ✓Raw material reordered before lines stop, with reorder points and AI suggestions.

FAQ

Common questions from chemical manufacturers

Can Dravyaa convert between drums, kilos and litres?

Yes. Each item can carry multiple units of measure with automatic conversion — purchase in drums, consume in kilos or litres in production, sell in cans. Stock stays accurate across all of it.

Does Dravyaa track batch yields against formulas?

Yes. Every work order compares planned output from the formula against actual output, so yield variance is visible per batch — not discovered months later at stock-take.

Can I trace which raw material lot went into a batch?

Yes. Batch/lot tracking gives full forward and backward traceability — from a raw material lot to the batches it went into and the customers they reached, and back again.

Does Dravyaa handle e-way bills for chemical dispatches?

Yes. Dravyaa generates GST invoices, e-invoices and e-way bills, so every dispatch leaves with compliant documentation for transport.

Implementation

Going live in 30 days: how a chemical unit is set up

The same four steps every Dravyaa customer follows — a mid-year cutover is fine, as long as the opening balances are taken on the cutover date. Case study: going live mid-year with clean opening balances shows it on a real tenant.

Week 1 — masters

Import items, customers and vendors from CSV; registered parties are pulled by GSTIN so names and addresses come from the GST portal, not retyped. Set up formulas as BOMs with kg / litre / drum units, warehouses and GST rates.

Week 2 — opening position

Load opening stock per warehouse at cost and party-wise debtor and creditor balances as at the cutover date (the same figures as the previous system's trial balance). Bank and cash opening balances go in last.

Week 3 — BOMs and parallel run

Enter the active BOMs and routings, run one week of real purchases, production and sales alongside the old system, and compare stock, GST and party statements line by line.

Week 4 — go-live

Freeze the old system on the cutover date, remove the demo data, hand each user their role, and file the first GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from Dravyaa's books.
